Purpose:

Responsibilities



·          Lead long-term planning efforts to address future needs for cemetery space, services, and infrastructure

·          Implement and maintain a system for tracking and managing burial plots and cremation remains

·          Plan and oversee the scheduling, coordination, and execution of burial and cremation services

·          Conduct regular inspections to ensure safety and proper maintenance 

·          Ensure efficient and respectful cemetery services by implementing systems to optimize the use of cemetery space

·          Enhance operational excellence and service quality by conducting regular reviews and audits of cemetery operations

·          Oversee the maintenance, repair, and enhancement of cemetery infrastructure

·          Implement robust financial controls to prevent misuse of funds and financial irregularities

·          Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to city management and relevant stakeholders

·          Formulate policies aligned with legal and regulatory changes

·          Ensure compliance with health and safety environmental laws

·          Develop and implement risk mitigation strategy

·          Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of customer service initiatives to continually improve service delivery

·          Establish effective communication channels with families and community to provide timely and accurate information

·          Offer regular training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge, ensure high quality service delivery

·          Develop clear performance metrics and conduct regular staff evaluations to assess progress


Job Requirements


·          Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration/Business Management/Environmental Management or related field

·          5 years' experience in cemeteries, parks and recreation management, or a closely related field

·          3 years' experience in a supervisory or management capacity.
