Purpose:

Responsibilities


  • Plan, organise, lead and control the City's economic programmes and initiatives on job creation.
  • Provide strategic leadership in the development of the job creation policies, strategies, progammes and guidelines to ensure effective and efficient implementation.
  • Plan and implement operational plans and process that are aligned with the divisional objectives to ensure implementation.
  • Manage and maintain governance and risk management activities of the division to ensure compliance with governance and risk management requirements.
  • Participate in and implement financial management of the division' budget planning processes to ensure compliance with financial controls as contemplated in the MFMA
  • Manage and ensure customer service orientation to ensure sound relations with the customer in relation to job creation programmes activities


Job Requirements


  • BCom Degree in Economic, Management, Social Sciences or Development Management or relevant equivalent NQF Level 7 qualification
  • 5 - 8 years' experience in a similar environment

The successful candidate will be required to sign a performance contract as per Council resolution.
